Brooklyn Tea Party Hosts State Senator Steve Chan for Powerful June 2025 Meeting

Brooklyn, NY — June 22, 2025

The Brooklyn Tea Party returned to in-person meetings this past Sunday with a packed house at 202 Foster Avenue, as members and guests gathered for a powerful afternoon featuring New York State Senator Stephen T. Chan as the keynote speaker.

Held in the basement conference room of the Greenline Arrow Office building, the June 2025 meeting was a blend of grassroots energy, patriotic spirit, and urgent calls for action. Community members from across Brooklyn and beyond came together to engage in open political dialogue, share concerns, and hear directly from one of New York’s most dynamic new voices in Albany.

Senator Chan Delivers Inspiring Remarks

Senator Chan, representing NYS Senate District 17, gave a stirring speech that touched on his personal journey—from an immigrant child from Hong Kong to a U.S. Marine, then NYPD Sergeant, small business owner, and now an elected official.

“I love this country,” Chan declared. “Everything I have today is because of America and the values we must protect.”

Chan spoke passionately about public safety, educational fairness, government accountability, and the American Dream. He criticized bureaucratic inefficiencies and excessive taxation, pledging to continue fighting for policies that benefit working families and preserve individual liberties.

A Deeply Rooted Community Leader

Throughout his address, Senator Chan emphasized his deep ties to Brooklyn. Having lived in the borough for 47 years, including 32 years in Bensonhurst, he spoke with a unique understanding of the diverse communities that make up the district.

As a father of two daughters in public schools and a longtime PTA and SLT parent leader, Chan also addressed concerns about the state of education in New York, calling for less ideology in classrooms and more focus on academic excellence.

Engaged Crowd, Active Participation

The audience remained highly engaged throughout the event, applauding Senator Chan’s remarks and participating in a lively Q&A session afterward. Glenn P. Nocera, President of the Brooklyn Tea Party, praised the turnout and reminded attendees that the strength of the Tea Party movement lies in its grassroots activism and local participation.

“Today showed what we’re all about—community, patriotism, and holding our leaders accountable,” Nocera said. “We were honored to host Senator Chan and look forward to continuing this momentum.”
