The purpose of a cover letter is 1) introduce yourself and your resume, as is proper business etiquette, 2) convey your abilities vis-a-vis the company’s needs, and 3) intrigue the reader regarding your potential value to their organization. A well written cover letter entices the reader to learn more about you by reading your resume. In this workshop, F·E·G·S will discuss the different types of cover letters, and the ways you can make your skills and experience stand out. Excel 4 will return from print and view options to the use of formulas and functions. Spreadsheets with more functionality are discussed as new concepts in calculations are presented. Real world application is presented as students will use pre-set files to practice on. Data entry shortcuts and precision will be discussed as well as data types and form. The difference between absolute formulas versus relative formulas will be a major piece. The class ends with linked spreadsheets (working with and connected more than one file together). Budget Watchers: Start the New Year Right, Become a “Budget Watcher”

Winning your debt collection lawsuit might be easier than you think. Topics in this workshop include a brief introduction to the life of a debt, the acceptable ways in which debt collectors can serve you with court papers, what to expect when you are sued by a debt collector and collection trends. A NYLAG attorney will review your rights and discuss some common debtor defenses. Even if you are not being sued you should know your rights and pass the information on to family and friends.
